Artists who have had their work canceled due to their personal beliefs will be supported by a new organization which describes itself as “an emergency project to tackle the culture of fear and intimidation” in the creative industries .
Freedom in the Arts was founded by Rosie Kay, a dancer and choreographer who was forced to resign from her company in 2021 after being accused of making transphobic comments, and Denise Fahmy, a former Arts executive Council England who said they felt forced. to resign after being harassed for her critical gender beliefs.
