The Presbyterian Mission Agency works extensively in many aspects of education, from preschoolers to adults.
THE Office of Christian Formation supports congregational formation ministries and connects faith community leaders with resources and practices that inspire new ways of thinking about faith formation throughout a person’s life.
Presbyterian Women’s Publications Ministry is particularly aimed at women of the Church. The directory PW/Horizons Bible Study explores a biblical theme or book in nine thought-provoking, faith-enriching lessons. A subscription to Horizons includes Bible study, as well as six issues of the magazine that explore a particular theme, with topics ranging from the Sabbath to human trafficking.
Beyond providing materials, Presbyterian Mission is participating in a major effort to provide quality education to children. There are both national and the international components of this campaign. You can get involved in these efforts as an individual volunteer or as a congregation. We are open to conversations with you and to partnering with your congregation, school, seminary, presbytery or synod (these are larger geographic groups of churches).
We also support the work of many Presbyterian colleges in the United States. Many of them are traditionally schools and colleges equipping communities of color. Some scholarships and grants are available in conjunction with ethnic schools and colleges. You can find information about the linked page in this paragraph.
We also provide support to Seminaries related to the Presbyterian Church (United States).
The Presbyterian Publishing Corporation produces educational materials and programs that can be used in Sunday school classes and Bible studies, and publishes books authored by esteemed pastors, seminary leaders, and many other Presbyterians. This work is designed to guide teachers, parents, and pastors as they help raise the next generation of faithful servants and continue the exploration of faith throughout adolescence and beyond. You can find much of it in Study programme.
